Minimize stress and boost your happiness by taking intentional pauses.

In this episode, I will talk about how stress impacts our overall well-being and the importance of taking time off on a regular basis.

When we tap into moments of silence, we create spaces for reflection and contemplation and allow ourselves to hear our intuition—the ‘I can’ voice. It also forces us to confront our innermost feelings and thoughts without self judgment.

This fast-paced world demands productivity constantly, and it can take a toll on us. I want to remind everyone that stopping is never wrong. We all need to reset and recharge to become the best versions of ourselves, improve our work and relationships, and accelerate our joy.

I urge you to dedicate a time of stillness, discover its positive effect on you, and amplify your abundance.

So as you do that right now, I just want to take a moment in today’s episode and either introduce or reintroduce myself. to you. So, I call myself an intuitive business coach, and I lead six and seven figure business clients to hear, use, and trust their intuition, aka their I can voice, to create a business that aligns with their true passions and the life they want to live.

And in layman’s terms, that really means that I help them. People to create a business that lights them the fuck up. I am also a speaker and a two time international bestselling author. I have been featured on major media outlets, including NBC, good day LA and daily blast live. I really helped my clients to stop playing safe and to start pursuing what truly lights them up through my bold and courageous coaching.

My clients hire me because I tell them what they don’t want to hear. And no, they need to, because they’re being called to a higher standard with a background in spiritual awakening and heart centered leadership. I have an extensive track record of elevating my clients to extraordinary heights, and I’ve personally built six and seven figure businesses after.

Many unexpected life transitions as a thought leader in the coaching space. My captivating presence extends not just to this particular podcast, but also to the global, I can summit movement called amplify your abundance. I bring my wisdom, my expertise, and my vision to every aspect of my work. And ultimately lead and guide my clients through a journey of self discovery so that they can embrace their, I can voice and become future leaders and catalysts of change as six and seven figure business owners.

And what I know to be true is that in order for us to truly hear that I can intuitive voice, it requires us to pause or create moments. of silence, because what I have experienced and my clients have experienced time and time again is the speed and the slowdown. Yes, there is an acceleration that happens when you pause.

And in fact, the pause is how you also reduce your stress and increase your levels of joy and happiness. And that is what today’s episode is all about. Now that might sound counterintuitive. I know that it did to me at first, but I’m here to tell you it isn’t. I recently came across a statistic that blew me away, and that is that one out of three adults in the United States say that stress is completely overwhelming most days.

That is staggering. The impact that this stress has on your mental and physical well being is off the charts, right? That’s where you experience headaches or fatigues or anxiety or nervousness, depression. And stress may appear to be a normal part of life, but I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be.

I want to share an example with you because this was me last summer. I was stressed. I was overwhelmed. I was the CEO of my seven figure divorce business and I was burned out. My relationships were taking a toll. My health was taking a toll. And I woke up one day and decided that I needed to take some time off.

And I decided I was going to take the month of August off. It was my birthday month and I was going to just assess and figure out what the heck I was going to do. Well, my family and I vacationed to Maui and I was in Lahaina when the fires broke out. I was literally driving through the fire. On the freeway with my kids and my partner, Jeff and his son, when the world literally around me was on fire.

And prior to that, I had been getting messages from the universe telling me to quote unquote, burn down my business, but not in the sense of burning it and watching it go away, but in the sense of a Phoenix rising and. In the moment that I made the conscious choice in Maui to pivot my business and to become who I just described I am to you and actually who I had been for many years prior to that and the work I had been doing with my clients, what ended up happening was life became easy, business became easy, and I came back and hit a 100, 000 plus

Before we continue with today’s episode, let’s take a moment to reflect on what we’ve discussed so far. We’ve explored the transformative potential of life’s pauses and the importance of embracing them to unlock your true potential. Remember these moments of reflection and growth are stepping stones towards creating that intuitively designed life.

that you desire. So in this moment, let’s take an opportunity to pause, breathe, and consider how you can apply what you’ve learned so far to your own journey. Now let’s dive back into our conversation where I will continue to explore the power within life’s pauses and how they can guide you towards a life filled with purpose and authenticity.

And taking that time off, gifting myself that pause, stepping out of the stress and anxiety, not just produced income, but what it did, most importantly, was provide me with the joy and the happiness That I needed in order to light myself up and to attract my clients to me. So the gift that I gave myself of a pause not only improved my personal life, but it supported my relationships, my business, my emotional state, my physical state, my mental state.

So when we gift ourselves with the power of the pause, we actually create space for reflection and contemplation. And that’s really the time where we’re really forcing ourselves to confront our innermost feelings and thoughts and doing so without judgment. And in doing that, we’re really accessing some wisdom and insights that We do not have the ability to tap into when we are on the hamster wheel of our everyday life.

If you’re anything like me, I’ve got two boys who are completely active. One drives, one does not. Carpooling, picking up, dropping off, you name it. It is a constant juggle every day. And what I know to be true is that when we pause, when we give ourselves a break from the nonstop stimulation of our everyday life, it allows us the opportunity to just be.

It’s so hard to just be when we are in constant noise and activity. But when we pause, we let go of all those distractions and we’re able to be present, present in the now, present with the people in our life, present in the moment. And when we’re present, that’s when we feel calm and centered and focused, right?

And, and pausing also gifts us the time to appreciate life more fully. You see, we often rush through, if you’re like me, I’m rushing through my days. How many things can I cross up? Okay. What is my calendar today? Okay. Check, check, check, check, check. And what I realized, and I do more times than not. Is, I don’t savor the good moments or the epiphanies that, that I have in conversations or when I’m listening to other people speak.

When we pause, we give ourselves the opportunity to truly breathe deeply, to savor the beauty and the company and the community around us. There’s happiness and joy that comes from that. And so when we gift ourselves the moments of pause to appreciate the beauty in these moments of being present, we’re creating overall happiness and joy in our life.

The world is going to keep moving. That is inevitable, right? We’re always going to go, go, go, go, go. And I know that it’s hard to force yourself to slow down. I, I have been there. I, I still get there and I have to remind myself. The reason that we easily default back to that place, though, is because I believe that our society values productivity, right?

It’s almost like you get a medal. You’re awarded something for how productive you can be in a day. We think that when we’re constantly busy, it’s like we wear it like a badge of honor. But what ends up happening is this constant state of motion leads to your stress, your anxiety, your depression, your sadness.

And you’re overwhelmed. So the way in which we combat those, those feelings that come up is to incorporate pauses into your life. And these pauses don’t have to be big, they can be small, right? But each pause that you give yourself is a chance for you to catch your breath, to re center and get present in the now.

and recharge your battery. So, how do you do that? Well, here are some of my favorites, and these are the ones that I encourage my clients to do as well. Just stand up from your desk. Take your phone and put on a song and do a two minute dance party. Open a window where you are and sit by it and breathe in the fresh air and close your eyes and tap into one of your senses.

Maybe it’s you picking up a book and reading for five minutes. I invite you to have a pause in your day that doesn’t. Involve a screen. So whenever you start to feel stressed or overwhelmed, I’m inviting you to tap into one of your senses and focus in the present moment. That’s what the pause gets to be.

I know that it’s easy to get caught up in that hustle and bustle because we are constantly bombarded with stimuli, whether that be from social media, work, family, and everything in between. I know that it gets overwhelming and stressful, and I know that it has a Frazzled and exhausted. Been there. And one way is to hit the pause button literally to take a break from the constant stimulation.

Give yourself a moment to relax and rejuvenate. You know, it’s reminding me of an unintentional pause that I gave myself when I parked my car and I ran into Trader Joe’s to go grab a couple of groceries and I left my phone in the car. And at first I had this moment of, oh, Crap, I need to go back to my car.

What if my kids need me? And I just took a breath and I said, nope, that is not an accident. I get to go to Trader Joe’s and not worry about anybody else but myself. I get to be present in Trader Joe’s. And I was in there for all of, I don’t know, maybe five to seven minutes. And it made a world of difference to know that I was not quote unquote connected.

My body felt the disconnect, it felt the rest and the recovery that I gave it. From worrying about my phone or texting someone in my family to ask them if there was something we needed from Trader Joe’s. And you may not realize this, but all the stress that you take on takes a toll on you. So gift yourself with these regular pauses, these regular breaks to help bring down those stress levels and improve your overall health.

Mentally, it gives you a chance to reset and recharge. It lets you clear your mind and clear your head because what I know to be true is that every single time I gift myself with a pause, man, am I so much more productive when I come back to my desk or I come back to wearing my mom hat and being with my kids, right?

I feel so much better equipped. I can’t stress this enough. When you take time out for yourself, it is not selfish. It is selfless because you are coming back to you, you’re coming back to that feeling of what being refreshed and present and ready to go feels like. So I invite you the next time that you’re feeling stressed to hit that pause button and give yourself some time to relax.

Refocus, recharge, connect with yourself, connect with this present moment. I invite you to make a conscious effort to incorporate more pauses into your life because your overall well being depends on it. Nobody’s going to gift you with this. You get to give yourself the permission. You get to say, yes, I can.

Yes, I can gift myself with the power of the present moment. Pause. So I hope you enjoyed this week’s episode. I know that this is one that I am constantly not just reminding myself of, but also reiterating to my clients. Let me know which idea in the pause is one that resonates with you.
